As you know, or might have guessed, I have little patience with secular humanists, ultraliberals, and especially the Post-Modernist political correctness crowd. That is why I often turn to the hymns of the 18th & 19th Centuries for inspiration! I just found this hymn today and it succinctly expresses my feelings about our nation’s commitment to the war on Islamic-fascism/terrorism as well as support for our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Coast Guardsmen and Airmen of our armed forces. (Please note that this is the proper order of service seniority!)
In these days, it isn’t “PC” to pray for God to be on our side, but I can assure you that those who oppose us have no such scruples! The following is offered as a prayer and it is one I challenge you to pray!

O GOD, THE STRENGTH OF THOSE WHO WAR!
By William Boyd Carpenter
O God, the Strength of those who war,
The Hope of those who wait,
Be with our sons gone forth to fight,
And those who keep the gate.
Give to our hosts in battle’s hour
Firm hearts and courage high,
Thy comfort give to those who fall,
Thy peace to those who die.
Breathe on our land the spirit calm
Which faith in right bestows,
And in the hours of dark suspense
A faith which stronger grows.
In Thee alone we place our hope,
Thou Keeper of the just,
And Thou, through fight and fire and fears
Wilt justify our trust.
Thy ways are wonderful, O God,
Who makest wars to cease:
O let this be the final war
That ushers in Thy peace.
