I am both a Christian (Anglican) and a Democrat (Blue Dog). Please remember that not all of us in the Democratic party share these views. I believe Tom used the phrase "ultra-liberal" rather than the name of a particular party. Many of my friends are Republican, and we may disagree on issues, but we can disagree without being disagreeable, to quote Barry Goldwater.

I long for the days of Ronald Regan, when party loyalty ended at 5.00 pm, and we were all simply Americans. I am American first, and a member of a political party second.

I think once upon a time the parties were reversed in which was conservative and liberal. You are quite correct, I did say ULTRA-LIBERAL and by that I mean the up-East militant liberal, who hates Christians. The ones who are destroying our beloved Episcopal Church, those militant homosexuals who want us to worship at their genitals. You live in the mid-West and are about as liberal as Teddy Roosevelt!! ;-) Quite frankly, you and I tend to agree more than we disagree. Anyway, I don't disagree with what Mike is saying here, he made his response more political than I was actually looking for but it did hit a nail square on the head. He isn't talking about all Democrats but the variety of Post-Modernist Democrat (AKA ULTRA-Liberal) that IS anti-Christian.

It's false worldviews rather than simple politcs. I don't care if you're a democrat or a republican, if you put your hedonism before God you're just as bad if you're a greedy glutton. Associating one party with God-hating neglects the sad fact that most politicians are indeed God-hating. The difference is how they go about doing it. I don't know which type of hatred and opposition I despise more: the kind where I'm pressured and persecuted to force me to accept the godless values held by the infidels, or the one that patronizes and pretends to be my friend to extend their own greedy designs. Mama ain't raise no fool! They are both my enemy and the enemy of God. Now, I'm not calling for anarchy--heavens no. Mankind is evil enough with leaders, we'd be worse off without them! And sometimes, there are the occasional honest politicians... but they are indeed rare. And while I totally understand the ultra-liberal opposition is probably the most dire--that is all the more reason to beware the aid of sheep in wolves clothing. As long as I live in a democratic republic, I sure as hell won't trust my politicians by their word alone.

The post was not talking about the run of the mill, mid-west, Truman Democrat. It is talking about the Post-Modernist Democrat (AKA ULTRA-Liberal). These are not nicey, nicey but nasty haters of Christians to be sure. Don't think for a moment that these are any different in their hate of Christians than Redwoodpecker! Some may conceal it better, but the hatred is still there. Post-Modernist philosopy translates into hating Christians and it also influences POLITICS as well. Make no mistake, the two are inextricably intertwined.
