highland gamesLast Saturday I attended the Stone Mountain Scottish Highland Games. The weather was perfect, very cool in the morning (39f) and warming up (72f) in the afternoon.

This year, I had the privilege of meeting in person Matt Newsome the curator of the Scottish Tartans Museum.I found Matt to be just as warm and friendly in person as he comes across on e-mail. However, his photos do not do this young man justice! My wife Catherine commented on how young and handsome he is! Indeed he is that. There is also a spiritual side of this man that shines through, which isn't something a photo can capture. We spent some time talking, but for him it was a work day and I soon let him get back to his customers. Yes, Matt is very tall and from what I can tell we are both the same height of about 6'3".
On Sunday we went up to the North Georgia Mountains and ate at the Lodge at Unicoi State Park. They had wonderful fried chicken and a coconut cake that knocked my socks off! After lunch we went to Anna Ruby Falls
